These are industrial heim joints also known as rod ends are made of stainless steel for extra long life in the most demanding conditions. We use them commonly in the 5/16 size shifter links and in the 3/8 size for brake stays. But they can be used in all sorts of other fabrication applications where a flexable stable joint is needed as well
